Privacy Policy

Last updated August 24, 2026

FairDrive is built to help car buyers share useful pricing information without requiring more personal information than necessary. This policy explains what FairDrive collects, what may be displayed publicly, and what choices you have.

Privacy at a glance

No account, name, or email is required to submit a buyer report.

FairDrive does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or serve targeted ads.

Original evidence will never be publicly displayed.

Buyer pricing information may be displayed publicly to help other shoppers.

You can request deletion of an entire buyer report.

FairDrive uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate site analytics and does not use third-party advertising trackers.

1. Information we collect

When you submit a buyer report, FairDrive may collect vehicle information, purchase or quote details, dealer information, location information, pricing components, optional demographic information, free-form notes, and supporting evidence that you choose to upload.

FairDrive does not currently require a name, email address, or account to submit a buyer report. If you contact FairDrive through the feedback form, any name or email address you provide there is optional and is used only to review or respond to your feedback.

FairDrive may also receive ordinary technical information needed to operate and secure the site, such as request logs, browser or device information, and IP address data handled by infrastructure providers.

2. How we use information

FairDrive uses buyer-report information to build pricing guides, display buyer reports, calculate market benchmarks, identify duplicate or inaccurate submissions, moderate contributions, and improve the service. Operational information may also be used for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and reliability.

3. What may be public

Buyer reports are intended to contribute to a public pricing database. Do not place information in report notes that you do not want shown publicly.

May appear publicly

  • Vehicle, model, trim, and configuration
  • MSRP, selling price, taxes, fees, incentives, add-ons, and OTD price
  • Dealer name and general location
  • Purchase or quote date
  • Notes intended for publication

Never displayed publicly

  • Original evidence files
  • Contact information
  • IP address and security data
  • Internal moderation information

4. Supporting evidence

You may choose to upload a quote, purchase worksheet, screenshot, or other supporting document. FairDrive may review that evidence to verify a report or remove sensitive information during moderation. The original evidence file will never be publicly displayed.

You should still avoid uploading information that is unnecessary for verification, such as bank-account details, financing-account numbers, or other highly sensitive information.

5. How information is shared

FairDrive uses service providers to operate the website, including Vercel for web hosting and analytics and Supabase for application data and storage. Those providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to FairDrive.

FairDrive may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service or its users, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal requests.

FairDrive does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Analytics

FairDrive uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, such as which pages are viewed and basic device, browser, referral, and approximate geographic information. FairDrive does not use third-party advertising trackers and does not use analytics data to build advertising profiles about visitors.

FairDrive does not currently use a separate advertising or analytics cookie system. If that changes, this policy and any required notices will be updated.

7. Data retention

Buyer-report data may be retained for as long as it remains useful to FairDrive’s pricing dataset. Supporting evidence, logs, moderation information, and operational records may have different retention periods based on verification, security, backup, or legal needs.

If a buyer report is deleted at your request, FairDrive will remove the report from public display and delete associated submission data from active systems, subject to limited retention that may be necessary for backups, security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

8. Your choices and deletion requests

You may request deletion of an entire buyer report. Include the report reference number or enough information for FairDrive to identify the submission. Buyer reports cannot currently be edited after submission, but deletion can be requested.

To make a privacy or deletion request, use the FairDrive feedback form.

9. Children

FairDrive is not intended for children under 13, and FairDrive does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Security

FairDrive uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by the service. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

FairDrive may update this policy as the service changes. Material updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date on this page.
